The Difference Between an Amateur and a Champion

The Difference Between an Amateur and a Champion winner success perseverance mindset

Do you know what separates an amateur from a champion?

The posses of two essential characteristics.

The first attribute champions possess is a strong mindset, their frame – how they see and perceive the world around them.

Second, their perseverance or you can also call it the consistency to get whatever they want and not settling for anything less.

If you possess one of those 2 qualities – good!

If you possess both, congratulations you will be successful in the area you will go.

Now let’s talk about these two characteristics in detail.

A champion knows that he is a champion before everyone else does.

He walks, talks and thinks like one.

No matter if he lives in a shitty little apartment or driving a rusty old car.

In his mind, he is already a winner.

Even if some of his “friends“ are saying “Forget it, Billy you will never be a professional Basketball player. Be happy with flipping burgers at Burger King!“.

He doesn’t care about their opinion.

It doesn’t hurt him or neither motivate him to prove them wrong hearing this.

To his ears, it’s like the blowing of the wind.

Because their narrow mind has nothing to do with his reality.

Life doesn’t reward people with conservative and limited minds.

But it has the prize of living your wildest dreams if you create your own reality and think about your dream day and night.

“What you think, you become.
What you feel, you attract.
What you imagine, you create.”

A champion knows if he puts in the work today, his future will be fantastic.

He is driven by an inside (intrinsic) motivation – fame, money and cars are only a by-product of being the best at his passion.

Getting the motivation only from outside (extrinsic) won’t make a true champion.

Everyone who doubted him before and laughed about his dreams wants to get some piece of the cake when he‘s successful, but doesn’t need any fake friends.

His only friends will be the ones who went with him from the bottom to the top.

No one ever has reached their goal overnight.

It is no coincidence that in most of the best films ever made the protagonist had the virtue of being persistent in the area that was important for them (Rocky, The Pursuit of Happyness, Gladiator, Slumdog Millionaire, Dances with Wolves, Django Unchained..).

People like watching others who seem to be like them and who go through difficulties to get what they want.

They’re sitting in the cinema watching the movie thinking ”This guy is so cool, I wish I could do the same, I wish I would be so lucky or I would have the talent to do those things he does”.

That’s one of the reasons those films are so popular.

First, I don’t believe in luck.
I believe that we can create a certain situation by hard persistent work which might look to others from the outside like luck.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Floyd Mayweather and Arnold Schwarzenegger were not the best in their area because of luck.                                                                                                                     They were the best because they were always the hardest working man in the room.

Second, talent plays also a role in those films but nothing beats consistent hard work and never giving up.

In fact, every human who has ever reached their goal was struggling at least a few times in their life until they’ve found the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you want to positively change your body, guess what’s the most important habit?

You got it- Perseverance, to eat the right meals, to never miss a workout and to get quality sleep.

If this characteristic wouldn’t exist Steve Jobs wouldn’t have invented the iPhone or the MacBook and you wouldn’t be able to read this post.

So don’t be the person who has a dream and gives up after the first little obstacle comes in the way.

No matter what success means to you, perseverance will always play an important part in your journey to be successful.

Thomas Edison is one of the most consistent men ever, he failed 999 times trying to build a light bulb.

Did he give up?

No, he didn’t and that’s why we don’t have to use gas lamps anymore.

A strong mindset and perseverance go hand in hand.

The future belongs to people like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs – who can see things which other people can’t see and who work hard, determinedly and without any doubt that they will fulfill their vision.
